Today was the day we've been waiting for since C. was admitted to the hospital on July 29th... C. was discharged from the hospital this morning! We so hoped it would happen yesterday, but they decided to have him stay through this morning. It was a LONG last hospital shift as we waited for any news about his discharge. To pass the time, we went on a walk around the hospital (passed out cookies to his great nurses!), colored, played legos for hours, covered everything in stickers, and ate a final hospital lunch. At nearly 1pm, we were thrilled to hear that the paperwork was finished and not long after that, we had his discharge orders in hand... We couldn't get out of there fast enough!
He spent the afternoon relaxing at our house, and now is having a sleepover with his best buddy from House 2, E.! E. plays pretty rough usually, but we've been pleasantly surprised by how well they're playing together. We're letting them watch a movie, and then it's bedtime for all of us!
