Madre's Visit: Day 5

Today was a LONG day. We started off the day by going to church and then out to lunch.

Then, we spent the afternoon at the Cristo de la Concordia statue. It's the tallest statue of Jesus Christ in the world. It was my second visit, but a first visit for my mom and Baby C. (who joined us on our outing as we went straight from church)! On Sundays, the Cristo is opened up to the public to climb up inside which we wanted to do. You can either climb 2,000 steps to get up the mountain to the Cristo or you can go up in a cable car. We chose to go up in the cable car, but that also meant that we chose to wait in the 3.5 hour line for the cable car! Then, it was another 1.5 hours back down. I enjoy going up in the cablecar, but it certainly makes for a long wait.

By the time we finally made it back down the mountain, it was getting late and we were hungry. We went to a delicious restaurant, Paprikas, and had some very yummy food! Madre had lasagna, and I had fettucine alfredo, and we both had chocolate mousse for dessert. Baby C. was getting pretty tired as she'd only slept for short spurts throughout the afternoon, but she played quietly on the restaurant floor while we ate!

Once we made it home, we were all ready for bed!
