Feliz Cumpleaños, S.!

We continue our week of birthday celebrations today with S.'s 3rd birthday! It's hard to believe he's just been two years old all of this time because he acts SO much older. He's so mature for his age and talks really well and very clear. Since he attended E.'s birthday party just two days ago, he knew what to expect and was ready! He was pretty shy while we sang and he blew out his candles, but he really had a great time at his little party! The Boohers came over to spend the morning with him and brought cake and lunch. We all had a fun morning!

Feliz Cumpleaños, E.!

This afternoon we celebrated E.'s 3rd birthday! I took S., S., and M. from the baby house over to help him celebrate, and they had a great time. They love playing with the big boys!

Sarah made him a cake and upon seeing it, E. jumped out of his chair and burst into tears. It was hilarious and not quite the reaction we were expecting! Of course the big kids wanted him to bite the cake but he wanted absolutely no part of that. He did eventually eat his piece of cake, jello, and juice. The festivities must have worn him out because he was the only one who needed a nap afterwards!

Just two more days and we get to celebrate Samuel's 3rd birthday… It's a busy week!

Today, after nearly a week of waiting, brothers M. and E. were allowed to go home with their family! Both lived at another orphanage but when it was shut down, they came to Casa de Amor in December 2013. They stayed at the baby home for just a couple of weeks before moving into the boys' house. Their mom has been working really hard to get them back and was SO ready for them to come home. We'll really miss these sweet brothers!

Friday Fun!

Sarah, E. and I had a very busy Friday! We started off in La Cancha, buying E. a new pair of shoes. Then we decided to go visit Elena and meet her twins. They're so tiny and just precious! I arrived back home at dinner time and spent the rest of the evening upstairs with the babies.

During lunch, E. wanted to use both his fork and knife to eat. All was going well until he decided to use his knife as a fork. Surprisingly, he did a pretty good job and didn't cut his mouth!

Happy Birthday, Clara!

Today is Clara Booher's 10th birthday! She asked if S. and A. from the baby home, A. and J. from the girls' house, and her friend Gracie could come to her party, so Sarah, Danyelle, and I loaded everyone up and took them over. The Boohers made some delicious enchiladas, and S., who normally fights with us over food at the baby home, ate them right up! We also had an ice cream cake (they have a name for it but I can't remember!) for dessert… As you can see in the pictures, it was too hard to put in the candles so Rudi brought out a drill to make some holes for them! The Boohers' kids made a piñata and after dinner everyone had fun taking turns hitting it.
